Highway 138 Was Closed After 3-Vehicle Crash Monday Morning

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Highway 138 (Hesperia side) was temporarily closed due to a three-vehicle crash Monday morning resulting in a hazmat cleanup.

According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 8:21am Monday September 27, 2021, a crash was located on Highway 138 about one mile east of Interstate 15. The vehicles involved in the crash were a white Toyota Tundra, black Jeep Rubicon, and a gray Mitsubishi Galant sedan.

It is unclear what led up to the crash but there was heavy traffic this morning on Interstate 15. The chain reaction started with the Jeep that was rear-ended by the Toyota pickup truck then the Mitsubishi rear-ended the Toyota pick-up truck. Inside the bed of the Toyota pickup truck was pool supplies that started to leak. With pool chlorine and pool acid leaking CHP temporarily closed Highway 138 at I-15 and Summit Valley Road for over an hour for a hazmat cleanup.

No injuries were reported at the scene. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office. CHP says additional information will be updated as it becomes available.
