PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A pickup truck pulling a trailer that overturned while taking a sharp corner crashed into another vehicle on Highway 138 Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened at 3:26pm Thursday June 9, 2022. The collision happened about a mile from Interstate 15 at the sharp turn of the highway on the Hesperia side. California Highway Patrol, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the accident. They located a older bluish Dodge Ram pulling a Ford Expedition on the trailer and a gray Dodge Ram pickup.
From what a witness stated the driver of pickup that was pulling the trailer was traveling westbound on Highway 138. The driver took the sharp turn at a higher than posted speed and couldn’t control the vehicle and the trailer. Both the pickup truck and the trailer hit the dirt embankment. This caused the Ford Expedition on the trailer and the trailer to overturn. At the same time, a passing gray Dodge Ram pickup truck was traveling in the opposite direction, hit the Expedition and the trailer.
In result the bluish color pickup and the trailer overturned and dislodge the Expedition from the trailer. The passing gray Dodge pickup had major damage to the driver side.
Highway 138 was temporarily closed for about an hour as good Samaritans helped move all the vehicles off the roadway.
No one was injured in the crash. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time.
