MOUNTAIN PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Commuters and those driving to and from Las Vegas/Stateline along Interstate 15 should expect some significant delays for the next two weeks.
Caltrans is continues work south of Nipton Road in the Mountain Pass area for emergency bridge work to the Wheaton Wash bridge due to erosion that occurred during last week storms. Crews working throughout the day and night to repair.
Caltrans will reduce the three-lane freeway to just one lane during the repairs. Construction workers will work around the clock to ensure the repairs are completed safety on time.
This weekend is Labor Day a 3 day weekend where millions of vehicles travel on Interstate 15 to Vegas.
The Pain In The Pass Traffic Group would like to say “Stay Away” from going to Stateline or the Las Vegas area. Last weekend Sunday traffic in this area the traffic delay was over two hours to go 16 miles during the peak time.
Expect traffic congestion and backups during peak hours. We recommends several options to reduce the traffic delay
Detour from Las Vegas use eastbound 215 freeway to southbound 11 freeway to Highway 95 to Interstate 40 to go around construction zone.
