Motorcycle Crash Causes Traffic Tie-Up On Northbound I-15

SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was injured in a motorcycle crash on Interstate 15 around 2:47pm Monday May 8, 2023. It happened in the northbound lanes just after Sierra Avenue. (Photo above is credit by Laupati Solaita)

Investigators from the California Highway Patrol said officers responded to a crash, and learned that two riders were speeding and weaving in and out of traffic lanes prior to the crash. A black and a yellow street bike were both traveling northbound on I-15 when the yellow bike was hit at high speeds by a unknown sedan. The black bike was not hit in the collision and did stop to check on his friend.

The male rider was ejected from the yellow bike. The rider was laying in the fast lane. Rescue crews arrived on scene, and transported the rider to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in minor to moderate condition.

The vehicle that hit the motorcyclist did stop at the scene and was not injured.

It appears speed was a factor in the crash. We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
