HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> An overturned big rig carrying a full load of steel I-beams Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. (Photo above is credit by Rudy Martinez.)
The crash was reported at about 4:40am July 12, 2023 on southbound Interstate 15 just before the Min Street exit. The semi tractor-trailer full of heavy I-beams spilled all over the freeway and was blocking all traffic lanes for hours.
For reasons still under investigation, the semi driver veered off the right shoulder of the freeway into the drainage ditch and overturned. No injuries were reported at the scene.
The slow lane was blocked for over three hours. Traffic on Amargosa Road was backed up due to multiple tow trucks to retrieve the cargo of steel beams.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Victorville Office.
