Driver Escapes with Minor Injuries After Rear-Ending Semi Tuesday Morning in the Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A driver of a Jeep was not injured Tuesday morning when the vehicle rear ended a semi tractor-trailer in the Cajon Pass Tuesday morning, California Highway Patrol officials said.

California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic collision involving a Jeep Wrangler with major front-end damage and a semi tractor-trailer stated on the CHP traffic log. The crash took place at about 6:20am Tuesday August 1, 2023 just after the Highway 138 exit on northbound Interstate 15.

The driver of the Jeep and the driver of the semi were not injured in the collision.

It is not yet known why the driver of the Jeep didn’t slow or why he didn’t change lanes. It looks like speed was a factor in this collision.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
