CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting the public that construction contractors will be performing sign and barrier placement on Interstate 15 (I-15) for the southbound Cajon Weigh Station Relocation Project.
Beginning on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, the southbound I-15 Brake Check Area just past Oak Hill Road exit will be closed for the duration of the project. Commercial drivers are advised to plan ahead to safely merge and avoid traffic delays. Crews are currently placing signage to alert drivers about roadwork ahead. Note: Closures are dependent on contractor receiving proper materials for each job function. They can be changed or canceled at any time. Weather permitting.
This project will relocate the only the southbound Cajon Weigh Station and the Truck Safety Check Area at the top of the Cajon Pass. The existing facility will be closed. Crews will perform work behind k-rail barriers. The project is expected to be complete in early 2025. Please adhere to any Construction Work Zone Speed Limit Reduction signs.
This project will combed the Truck Safety Check Area and the Cajon Weigh Station at one location.
