Small Brush Fire Erupts off 215/15 Freeway in Devore Saturday Afternoon

The Hillside Fire was reported at about 1:37pm Saturday, November 4, 2023. The location of the fire was on northbound I-215 at the 15 freeway. San Bernardino County Fire Department, CAL FIRE and San Bernardino National Forest firefighters were quickly on scene. The cool weather and no wind help the fire not to spread fast and was quickly contained less than a ¼ acre burned.

A witness reported seeing a white male adult, approximately 5’6″ tall, wearing a pink shirt and blue shorts, walking away from the fire on the southbound I-15 transition ramp to southbound I-215. The witness also said, they didn’t see the guy start the fire.

The truck bypass lanes was closed during the fire fight. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
