Speeding Car Rear-Ends a Semi, Cause a Traffic Jam on Interstate 15

HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person were injured, in a crash on Interstate 15 in Hesperia Monday afternoon. (Photo above is credit by Dave Hahs.)

California Highway Patrol said the crash happened around 3:08pm when a white Hyundai Elantra sedan rear-ended a semi tractor trailer while heading northbound on I-15. A third vehicle unknown make or model was involved in the collision.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic log the driver of the white Hyundai sedan was speeding prior to the collision with the semi. The driver clip the rear of the semi trailer and spun out and hit the center divider krail.

One person reported to have minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The semi driver was not injured.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Victorville Office.
