CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol Police on Thursday responded to dozens of dozens weather-related crashes, including one that closed two lane of Interstate 15 at Oak Hill Road, at the top of the Cajon Pass. (Photo above is credit by CHP Rancho Cucamonga Office)
Several accidents have being reported by crews that started around 5am Thursday morning as the heavy rain showers came down. Drivers traveling on Interstate 15 from the 10 freeway up to the high desert and on I-215 in San Bernardino seen multiple vehicle spinouts. As of 8pm there has been over 200 incidents just on the 15 Freeway.
This incidents were caught on camera by CHP Rancho Cucamonga Office above. The solo vehicle collision happened about 7:15am on northbound I-15 at 4th Street exit. The driver of the sliver GMC Terrain SUV was probably speeding on wet pavement, lost control and a signal pole. There is no word on injuries or what caused the crash.
This incidents were caught on camera by David E above. The solo vehicle collision happened around 11:40am on northbound I-15 before the Bear Valley Road exit. The driver of the white SUV lost control and hit the center divider. There is no word on injuries or what caused the crash.
This incidents were caught on camera by Michelle Pulone above. The solo vehicle collision happened around 3pm on northbound I-15 about a half mile before the Glen Helen Parkway exit. The driver of the white Toyota Camry sedan was probably speeding on wet pavement, lost control and hit the center divider. There is no word on injuries or what caused the crash.
This incidents were caught on camera by Rudy Jimenez above. The solo vehicle collision happened around 12:45pm on northbound I-15 just before the Oak Hill Road exit. Three semi crash and one trailer was split in half .There is no word on injuries or what caused the crash.
Some of them were able to avoid slamming into other drivers.
Officials recommend lowering your speed when it is raining. Leave twice as much space between you and the vehicle in front. Keep headlights turned on.
