HESPERIA, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> Commuters will notice slowdowns and road closures between Monday night August 19 until Thursday Night August 29 on Highway 395 as crews continue to work on pavement upgrades, install changeable message signs, and upgrade facilities to meet American with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards, in the cities of Hesperia, Victorville, and Adelanto.
This $43 Million Roadway Improvement Project is funded through Senate Bill (SB) 1, the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017, and will refurbish the existing roads, enhance safety, and accessibility. Day and night work continues, Monday, August 19 to Thursday, August 29, 2024, from 8am to 5pm and night work will run between 10pm to 6am**.
Night work will require closure of the Northbound (NB) Interstate 15 (I-15) to NB Hwy 395 connector as well as the Southbound (SB) Hwy 395 to SB I-15 connector. Detour signs will be posted to direct traffic.
Work will also occur at various areas on the route and may require alternating lane closures. Traffic will be escorted via pilot vehicle and will have multiple reverse lane and shoulder closures, alternating between both northbound and southbound directions. Access will remain available for drivers in driving lanes, although potential delays should be expected.
**Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.
This project is anticipated to be completed in December 2024.
