Small Brush Fire Sparks In The Cajon Pass Thursday Night

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small brush fire broke out on Thursday night along the southbound 15 Freeway lanes in the Cajon Pass.

The so-called Overlook Fire, which has burned about a quarter of a acre, began burning sometime around 10:50pm on southbound Interstate 15 lanes between Oak Hill Road and the truck escape ramp in the Cajon Pass.

California Highway Patrol temporally shut down all southbound lane at 11:10pm for a traffic break. Then at 11:20pm they reopen the 3 left lanes and closed the slow lane for the fire fight.

At 12:15am on Friday, San Bernardino County Fire said the fire was 100% contained.

No structures were threatened, and no injuries were reported as a result of the fire, according to the fire department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but they are reporting to be arson.
