Roadwork Starts Next Week on Southbound 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is alerting the public that construction contractors continue performing work along southbound Interstate 15, for the $25 million Cajon Weigh Station Relocation Project. This project will relocate the southbound Cajon Weigh Station and Truck Safety Brake Check Area at the top of the Cajon Pass.

The existing southbound I-15 scale facility is closed.

Next week Monday night crews will close the following locations to complete work.

Closure Location:

Southbound I-15 Oak Hill Rd. off ramp and on ramp will be closed.

Southbound I-15 connector ramp will be closed to and from eastbound and westbound Hwy 138.

Multiple lane closures on southbound I-15 Oak Hill Rd. to the new weigh station. Lane #1 the left lane will remain open for all ongoing traffic.

Closure Schedule:

Work begins Monday night May 5, 2025, through Saturday morning May 17, 2025. 7pm to 5am* each night.

*Times can subject to change and could go longer or start earlier. Please use caution and remember to reduce your speed when approaching and driving through the construction zones. Schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or construction issues.

Expect major traffic at peak time like around 7pm and at 4am.

The project is anticipated to be completed by Summer 2025.
