CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Unsettled weather will be moving down and across Southern California on Thursday and Friday.

A very weak low pressure will drop into the high desert and the mountain area that could bring a slight chance of rain showers and or pop-up thunderstorms.

A stronger weak cold front low pressure will arrive for the weekend, boosting precipitation chances by 50% and bringing a brief return of wintry weather to the higher terrain.

For Thursday afternoon various area of the high desert and the mountains of the forecast area will see different weather that could impact you. Some may see partly sunny skies, gusty winds, scattered chances of rain/snow showers, or all the above weather.

We have posted the timing of the storm for the Inland Empire, the Cajon Pass, the mountains area, and the high desert. This is a slight chance of rain showers.

Timing for Inland Empire/Cajon Pass. Light rain showers could start around 2pm-5pm Thursday afternoon. The Cajon Pass/foothills could get about a trace to no rain. The Inland Empire cities could get no rain to a trace of rain, each city will vary. Closer to the foothill could have a better chance of rain showers. There no chance of snow at the top of the Cajon Pass with this storm.

Timing of the storm for the High Desert. The scattered light rain showers could start around 2pm-5pm of the high desert cities. Cities could get no rain to a trace of rain. Phelan and Pinion Hills will have a better chance than Victorville.

Timing of the storm for Wrightwood Mountains/ San Bernardino Mountain. Light rain/snow showers could start around 2pm-5pm day afternoon. Snow level will be high around 8,000ft. Wrightwood could get about a trace rain total. A dusting of snow is possible in the higher mountain areas.

If you travel through the Cajon Pass or on Interstate 15 expect traffic due to the weather condition that can change quickly. Remember to SLOW DOWN in the rainy conditions.
