NEWBERRY SPRINGS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> All four people in a pickup truck, including three children, killed Sunday morning on Interstate 40 near Barstow.
The crash was reported around 7:45am May 4, 2025. California Highway Patrol said that for reasons still under investigation, The 2012 Dodge Ram was traveling on westbound I-40 about three miles after the Hector Road exit. The driver veered from the traffic lanes onto the dirt shoulder and rolled over several times.
All four people were pronounced deceased at the scene.
None of the names of the deceased had been announced as of Monday afternoon. The driver was identified as a 35-year-old man from Yermo.
Impairment is not believed to have contributed to the crash, the CHP said.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. The CHP asked anyone with information on the crash to call Officer Herrera at 760-255-5900.
