Here the Timing and Info you Need to Know about the New Year’s Eve and Day Rain Storm

CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Another strong weather system going to hit Southern California, but not as strong as of Christmas Eve.

This storm will bring moderate rainfall that could be heavy at timesA chance of Scattered thunderstorms are not out of the question on New Year’s Day.

The Southern California Weather Force has issued a Flood Watch and a Wind Advisory for everybody in Southern California again on Wednesday and on Thursday.

The Southern California Weather Force has posted the timing of the storm going to hit the Inland Empire, Cajon Pass, mountains area, and the high desert below.

Timing for Inland Empire/Cajon Pass. Light rain showers could start around 9am-12pm on Wednesday morning/afternoon. This storm will bring off and on rain showers. Heavy fog/rain in the Cajon Pass. Heavy rain showers could start around 1am into in the morning on New Year’s Day. The Cajon Pass/foothills area could get about 2 to 3+ inches of rain total. The Inland Empire cities could get about a 1 to 2+ inch an inch of rain total; each city could vary. No snow for the Cajon Pass.

Timing of the storm for the High Desert. The rain showers could start around 1pm Wednesday. Heavy rain showers could start around 1pm on Thursday morning. The High Desert cities like Hesperia/Victorville could get about a inch to 2+ inches of rain total; each city could vary. Less rain in the Barstow area. Strong gusty winds up to 50 mph.

Timing of the storm for the Mountains like Wrightwood. Rain showers could start around 9am-12pm Wednesday morning/afternoon. Heavy rain showers could start around 1am on New Year’s Day. This storm will bring off and on rain showers. Snow level will be high around 8,000 feet. Wrightwood could get about a inch to 3 to 4+ inches of rain total; Strong gusty winds up to 50 mph. Good chance of flash flooding on New Year’s Day.

If you travel through the Cajon Pass expect heavy traffic due to the weather condition that can change quickly. One-minute light rain then the next minute heavy rain. Remember to SLOW DOWN in the rain or in foggy conditions.

More rain on Friday into Saturday and maybe on Wednesday.

Remember Head Lights “on” in the rain in the daytime.

Slow down to maintain control and leave space between vehicles.
