NEEDLES, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Part of Interstate 40 Freeway in Needles was shut down on late Wednesday afternoon because of a motorhome fire.
The motorhome fire was reported about 4:12pm February 11, 2026, on eastbound I-40 about a mile after the 5 Mile Road exit.
Firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire were quickly were on scene. They asked California Highway Patrol to close all lanes as they worked to extinguish the flames.
Lanes were reported by 5pm.
Everybody did escape the motorhome before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time.
