SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A heatwave is expected to rank among the hottest of the year so far, will peak on Wednesday and will last until Saturday.
A slight cooldown is expected on Sunday and Monday, with temperatures dropping by about 10 degrees.
Bad news, the Big-O high-pressure system will begin shifting back toward Arizona on Thursday, bringing afternoon highs over 105° to 110+° to parts of the Inland Empire Valley. Over 110° to 120+° for the high and low deserts cities.
This will cause the overnight temps to be in the high 70’s near 80’s degrees. This will be no relief at night.
You can guarantee this they will issue an Extreme Heat Warnings and Advisories for parts of SoCal.
Heat Health Safety Tips:
Stay hydrated! The more hydrated you are, the more effective your body will be keeping your cool. Drink water – not sodas, energy drinks, and alcoholic drinks, which will could dehydrate you.
Avoid exercise in the middle of the day. If you need to exercise outside, do it early in the morning when the temperature is lower.
Wear lightweight, light-colored natural fabrics like cotton and linen, as these will help your skin breathe and let your sweat evaporate, this will keep you cooler.
Turn off big appliances and help prevent black-outs!
Make sure your pets have shade and lots of water.
Do Not leave pets or children in unattended vehicle. Look Before You Lock!
