CIMA, CA (Pain In The Pass) >> A car caught fire on northbound Interstate 15 in the Mojave Desert area Friday morning.
California Highway Patrol and San Bernardino County Fire Department were getting calls of a black sedan on fire. The vehicle was located about 6 miles after Cima Road exit on the right shoulder. The car fire happened on July 2, 2021 about 10:06am. The vehicle on fire was reported a Chevrolet Malibu. California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the #2 lane and the slow lane while they worked on getting the vehicle fire put out and for the smoke blowing across the freeway.
Everybody did escape the vehicle before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene. The cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time. Traffic was backup for miles due to the holiday traffic .
