VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A 84-year-old Adelanto man was killed Friday morning after crashing his vehicle into a pillar for Interstate 15 overpass, according to Victorville Police. 

On Friday, July 30, 2021 at 12:58am, deputies from the Victorville Police Department and rescue personnel from Victorville Fire Department and American Medical Response responded to a single vehicle traffic collision into a cement pillar on D Street and at the Interstate 15 Northbound On/Off-ramps.

When deputies arrived they located an unresponsive driver suffering from major injuries. Despite life saving measures the 84-year-old Joseph Anthony Derosa from Adelanto was pronounced deceased at the scene. Deputies with the Victorville Station’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Deputies learned the driver was traveling west on D Street and for unknown reasons collided into a cement pillar. 

Westbound D Street was closed for several hours while deputies completed their investigation and reopened at 3am. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
