PHELAN, CA. ( Pain In The Pass) >> A police pursuit in Riverside ended with a stolen big rig stuck off of a dirt road in Phelan with the driver in custody, authorities said.

The big rig owner called the Riverside Police Department on Friday afternoon to report his vehicle being stolen from the Riverside area. The truck company was watching the moving big rig on real time using GPS while the suspect driver was on northbound Interstate 215 freeway. Then the suspect transitioned to northbound Interstate 15, California Highway Patrol tried to stop the big rig and the suspect failed to stop.

The suspect went off Interstate 15 then traveled westbound onto Phelan Road with over a handful of officers behind him and a CHP helicopter over head. Then the suspect exited from Phelan Rd. onto Centola Rd then onto Brawley Rd. when he became stuck around 9pm. After a 30 minute stand off with CHP, they shot out the windows of the big rig with bean bag rounds. After that the driver came out and complied with officers and was taken into custody.
