LIANO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One motorcyclist rider was killed and another rider had been taken to the hospital after a head-on crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 18 in the town of Liano.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash. The crash was reported at about 1:16pm, Sunday February 27, 2022. The location was on eastbound Pearblossom Highway (Hwy18) by the bridge over the train track, near 263rd Street in the town of Liano.
The motorcyclist and passenger were both on a black Harley-Davidson when they collided head-on with a sliver Toyota Tundra pickup truck and the impact caused both riders to be ejected from the motorcycle. CHP officials said one motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene and the other rider was in critical condition. Firefighters requested a medical helicopter to transport the rider to a local trauma center. Los Angeles Sheriff Air Rescue Helicopter #5 landed on the highway to transport the rider to Antelope Valley Hospital in critical condition. The pickup truck’s driver and passenger only had minor injuries in the collision.
It is still under investigation who crossed over the double yellow line. No further details have been provided at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Antelope Valley Office. Please check for updates on this incident.
