SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified the driver killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning on eastbound 210 Freeway as a 57-year-old Desert Hot Springs man.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:02am Thursday June 9, 2022. California Highway Patrol and firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic accident.

Dan Riley Murphy was driving a cargo van on eastbound Interstate 210 Freeway, just west of Del Rosa Avenue when he was “involved in a rear end collision” with a semi tractor trailer, CHP said.

The driver of the van was trapped in the driver seat. Despite life-saving rescue measures, firefighters and CHP officials said Dan was pronounced deceased at the scene. CHP temporarily shutdown all the lanes for the investigation. At 4:30am CHP reopened the traffic lanes.

The semi driver was not injured. The incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Inland Office.
