BARSTOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorhome crashed into the center divider guardrail on Thursday morning on eastbound Interstate 40.

California Highway Patrol and Cal Fire Department received calls of a crash. The solo vehicle involved was motorhome pulling a boat. The location was on eastbound Interstate 40 just before the Nebo Street exit. The crash happened at about 6:41am on Thursday June 30, 2022.

According to the California Highway Patrol Traffic Log, the motorhome veered in the center divider hit the guardrail and destroyed the motorhome into million pieces. The motorhome driver lost control or fell asleep at the wheel at an unknown speed.

Firefighters rendered aid to the driver involved in the crash. Rescue crews requested a helicopter to transport the driver in serious injuries. The driver was transported by Mercy Air #2 to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and no other injuries were reported.

CHP has not released a cause of the crash. No further details have been provided at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office. Please check for updates on this incident.
