LUDLOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> One person was flown and another transported by ground from a rear-end crash involving two semis on Interstate 40.

California Highway Patrol, Clark County Fire Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the traffic crash involving two semis. The crash took place at about 3:14pm August 15, 2022. The location was about 7 miles before Crucero Road in the westbound lanes of I-40.

From what the traffic log stated a 53 foot semi tractor trailer rear-ended a semi car hauler with 8 vehicles on the trailer. The 53 ft. semi burst into flames with a driver and a passenger inside the cab. The driver was able to get out. With the help of good Samaritans they were able to pull the passenger out of the burning semi.

Rescue crews requested one medical helicopter to transport one victim with burns to his body. He was transported by Mercy Air #66 at the scene to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in unknown condition. The other person was transported by ground ambulance to a nearby hospital with minor burns.

The semi car hauler driver was not injured.
