SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol said a pedestrian was struck by a garbage truck early Wednesday morning. 

Authorities said the pedestrian, was hit in the intersection of University Parkway onramp to southbound Interstate 215 on Wednesday November 9, 2022 about 5:53am. 

CHP said the driver immediately stopped and called 911. 

When resuce crews arrived on the scene, they found the pedestrian that was hit and was unresponsive in front of the onramp entrance. When CPR efforts on scene failed, shortly after they pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.

The cause of the incident is currently under investigation by California Highway Patrol Inland Office and the garbage truck driver is fully cooperating with investigators, according to the CHP officer.
