DETROIT, MI. (Pain In The Pass) >>The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and Jeep have announced the recall of nearly 63,000 Jeep Wrangler SUVs.

The NHTSA said some 2021-2023 Jeep Wranglers equipped with the 2.0L plug-in hybrid electric vehicle engine may shut down because of a loss of communication. The shutdown can happen without warning while the SUV is being driven and can cause a crash.

The recalled vehicles will get an update for their vehicle control software.

Owners of affected vehicles will start receiving notices around Jan. 12, the NHTSA said.

Owners with questions can call Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403, You can also visit Jeep’s website and enter your vehicle identification number to see if it is under recall.
