PHELAN, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Three people have been taken to a local hospital after a crash in the town of Phelan Saturday morning.

California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, and San Bernardino County Fire Department received calls of a collision at the intersection of Phelan Road and Sheep Creek Rd. According to CHP, the two-vehicle crash happened at around 7:06 am Saturday, March 11, 2023.

The vehicles involved in the crash were reported on the CHP traffic log as, a white Jeep Cherokee with major front-end damage and a dark gray possibly Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck with major damage to the door area, using the Jaw-Of-Life to assist in the extrication of the victim.

When rescue teams arrived they called for at least 3 ground ambulances and one medical helicopter to the scene. Recuse crews confirmed that the driver of the pickup truck was airlifted by Mercy Air #22 to Antelope Valley Medical Center for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The other people were reportedly transported by ground ambulances to a local hospital in unknown conditions.

The road was closed for about an hour Saturday but has since re-opened to traffic.
