BAKER, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> At least one person killed Tuesday morning in a fiery rollover crash on northbound Interstate 15 near the town of Baker.
California Highway Patrol with firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene. The crash scene was located on northbound I-15 about 2 miles away from Zzyzx Road. According to California Highway Patrol Traffic Log, the crash was reported about at 4:58am Tuesday May 30, 2023, by a iPhone watch notification.
When rescue crews arrived on scene they located a unknown type of vehicle on its roof, fully involved in flames with nobody outside of the vehicle on the right side shoulder embankment.
There were no initial reports on how many people were inside the vehicle. There identity will be withheld pending next of kin notification.
We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol Barstow Office.
