Small Brush Fire on Northbound I-15 in Hesperia Quickly Extinguished

HESPERIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A small brush fire burned about a acre on Interstate 15 between Oak Hill Road and Ranchero Rd exits. Thursday afternoon, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department. (Photo above is credit by CAL FIRE San Bernardino Unit.)

The blaze was reported about 2:35pm on June 15, 2023, along the northbound I-15 freeway right shoulder and between Mariposa Rd near Oak Hill Road exit, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP issued a SigAlert, closing the slow lane of the for about an hour.

The lane closure caused about a 4 mile traffic backup on the freeway.

Forward progress of the blaze had stopped by 3pm and no injuries were reported.

The size was under a acre section burned. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
