(Pain In The Pass) >> Polaris recalled more than 20,000 RZR Pro XP and Turbo recreational off-road vehicles as a fuel leak can occur, posing a fire hazard.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website published the recall back on May 18. It applies to about 20,330 Model Year 2021-2023 RZR Pro XP 4 and Model Year 2022-2023 RZR Turbo R 4 vehicles sold in the United States and about 330 sold in Canada.
According to the recall, a fuel leak can occur at the fuel pump assembly joint on the fuel tank in close proximity to a hot surface, posing a fire hazard.
Polaris received five reports of fuel leaks, including one report of fire so far, it says. No injuries have been reported.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled off-road vehicles and contact Polaris or an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair.
The authorized dealer will replace the fuel pump assembly free of charge. Polaris will notified consumers to stop riding the vehicles and is contacting all dealers and registered owners directly to provide more details about the repair, the recall states.
The recall involves certain VINs of model year 2021-2023 RZR Pro XP 4 and Model Year 2022-2023 RZR Turbo R 4 vehicles. The VIN is on the vehicle’s frame in the left rear wheel well.
