The fire was reported around 10:58am Sunday September 24, 2023. California Highway Patrol, Apple Valley Police Department and San Bernardino County Fire Department firefighters were getting calls of a cement company semi tractor on fire. The vehicle was located on Bear Valley Rd. at Hwy 18 in the right shoulder.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down lanes, while they worked on getting the semi fire put out.
Firefighters had the fire out in about 20 minutes. The driver did escape the semi before it became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene.
The official cause of the vehicle fire is unknown at this time. Flames did start from the engine compartment.
