According to the Barstow Police Department, William Greene, resident of Barstow was arrested early Saturday morning and faces attempted murder charge after he went to the victim’s residence and fired numerous rounds into his residence. Detectives spoke with numerous witnesses who identified Greene as the suspect and provided information on his vehicle.
Officers searched for Greene but were unable to locate him at that time. Detective Bryce Carson obtained a warrant for Greene’s arrest, and allied agencies were notified in case they came into contact with Greene.
On Saturday, September 23, 2023, at approximately 5am, California Highway Patrol Officers located Greene’s abandoned vehicle near Ludlow, California. CHP Officers, with the assistance of their Air Operations Unit, located Greene approximately nine miles from his vehicle, where he was arrested. Green’s vehicle was towed to the Barstow Police Department for processing.
During the processing of Greene’s vehicle, detectives located additional evidence linking him to the incident.
Greene was booked at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Jail in Adelanto for PC 664 – 187(a) – Attempted Murder.
