CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> AAA predicts 55.4 million people will travel 50 miles or more from home this Thanksgiving. That’s a 2.3% increase over last year and back of pre-pandemic levels. This will make it the third-highest Thanksgiving forecast since 2000. I can say the road will be jammed pack starting Tuesday. NO ROADWORK Wednesday night – Sunday night from the 210 freeway up to Stateline on Interstate 15 this Thanksgiving weekend.
Expect delays on Wednesday afternoon/evening for northbound I-15 traffic and on Sunday evening for southbound I-15 in the Cajon Pass, Devore, Hesperia, Victorville, Barstow, Baker, and Stateline areas. Try to travel during off peak hours (like the early morning or late at night). The worst time to travel is around 3pm to 7pm on Wednesday. Sunday worst time is 12pm to 6pm.

• Travel in early morning hours if possible – try to leave before noon Wednesday and Sunday
• BRING WATER! Also bring snacks and necessary medication.
• Have a full tank of gas before you go.
• Make sure your car is in good running condition. Check all the fluids, tires and tire pressure.
• Bring a charged cell phone (with a car charger).
• Use the restroom before you get on the road – you don’t know where you may get stopped for long periods of time.
• Bring your patience, Please. Don’t need road rage this Holiday weekend.
