CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The vehicle that was struck by an fright train in the Cajon Pass Tuesday night was stuck on the tracks shortly before the crash, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident happened at about 6:48pm Tuesday after the vehicle, became stuck on the tracks while heading north on Swartout Canyon Road.

A train then collided with the unknown type of vehicle, causing the crossing to be closed for an investigation.

The driver was able to escape the vehicle before the impact. No injuries were reported at the scene.

The cause of the incident is under investigation. The road is closed in both directions as BNSF personnel work with local law enforcement to clear the incident.
