DETROIT, MI. (Pain In The Pass) >> Honda Motor Company is recalling 2017 through 2020 CR-V, the 2018 and 2019 Accord, 2018 through 2020 Odyssey and 2019 Insight as well as Acura RDX from the 2019 and 2020 model years. These vehicles may have seat belt issues. The automatic locking retractor on the second-row center seat belt assembly may deactivate improperly, resulting in an unsecured child restraint system, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on January 17, 2024. Owners may contact Honda customer service at 888-234-2138 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle safety hotline at 888-327-4236 to learn more.

To fix the problem, dealers will replace the second-row center seat belt assembly.

Although manufacturers can make every effort to notify affected customers about recalls, it’s not always possible. So, if you want to check if your car has an active recall, sometimes you need to do it yourself. Checking for a new or old recalls on your vehicle is easier than you think. Enter your vehicles VIN number at NHTSA Recall Site or checktoprotect.org to see if your vehicle has a open recall.
