NEEDLES, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Amy Lee Arsenault, 34, of resident of Chico, a pedestrian that was killed in a crash on Interstate 40 at Five Mile Road exit near the Colorado River last month.

About 7:16pm Tuesday, December 26, 2023, CHP responded to the intersection of eastbound I-40 and 5 Mile Road on a report of a vehicle hitting a pedestrian, according to the CHP Traffic Log. The driver of the vehicle was heading east when they struck a female pedestrian. Shortly after they pronounced Amy deceased at the scene.

The vehicle that hit the pedestrian did stop on the freeway shoulder, near the scene and the driver did call 911. The driver did remain at the scene for questioning, according to the CHP traffic log.

They said it doesn’t appear this incident was caused by anything related to weather conditions, disabled vehicle, or construction.

This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Needles Office.
