(Pain In The Pass) >> Many area schools will reopen or start spring break on Monday, April 10, which means many families are starting or returning from spring getaways over Easter weekend. You can check the Pain In The Pass Facebook Group before you go for up-to-date traffic conditions.

Expect delays on Thursday and Friday afternoon/evening for northbound and southbound I-15 traffic. Traffic will be bad in theses spot on I-15 in the Cajon Pass, Devore, Hesperia, Victorville, Barstow, Baker and Stateline areas. Try to travel during off peak hours (early morning or late at night). The worst time to travel is around 2pm to 8pm on Thursday and Friday. Monday afternoon/night will be the worst time to travel at 12pm (noon) to 7pm. Easter Sunday could have heavy traffic in the late afternoon evening.

• Travel in early morning hours if possible – try to leave before noon Wednesday and Sunday

• BRING WATER! Also bring snacks and necessary medication.

• Have a full tank of gas before you go.

• Make sure your car is in good running condition. Check all the fluids, tires and tire pressure.

• Bring a charged cell phone (with a car charger).

• Use the restroom before you get on the road – you don’t know where you may get stopped for long periods of time.

• Bring your patience, Please. Don’t need road rage this Holiday weekend.

• Know before you go and check the Pain In The Pass Facebook Group for up to date traffic conditions on the 15 freeway. Plan ahead and add extra time before you travel. Have a positive attitude — relax and enjoy the ride!
