SAN BERNARDINO, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Authorities are searching for survivors after a plane crash in North San Bernardino that happened Saturday night.
Preliminary information from the FAA indicates the aircraft, a twin-engine Rockwell Commander 695A, crashed above the area of Palm Avenue and Melvin Ave. in the Bailey Canyon mountains of North San Bernardino around 8:21pm, April 13, 2024. The plane was reportedly enroute to Chino Airport from Stockton. The plane reportedly left Stockton Airport around 6:20pm Saturday night.
A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department confirmed, that witnesses reported hearing “an engine sputter and then an impact” around the time of the crash.
First responders began the search for survivors but hampered by heavy rain, low clouds, and gusty winds.
It is not known how many passengers were on board at the time of the crash or if there are any survivors or fatalities.
The FAA Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are also investigating the cause of the crash.

Update 1: A deceased adult male was located. The name of the decedent will be released when he has been positively identified and the family is notified.
Update 2: The pilot has been ID as Blake E. Broadbent, 35-year-old Adult Male, Resident of Riverside.
