The fire broke out around 4:51am July 26, 2024, on southbound I-15 between Highway 138 and Cleghorn Road in the old truck scales.
California Highway Patrol and firefighters were on the scene and had to temporarily shut down the two right lanes while they worked on getting the cab and trailer extinguished.
CHP issued a Sig Alert for all lanes to temporary blocked all lanes so fire crews can fully extinguish the flames in the trailer.
The sad news the tractor burned down to the chassis and burned about 75% of the trailer before the fire crews were able to control the flames just after 7am.
Everybody did escape the semi before the cab became fully engulfed. No injuries were reported at the scene.
It was unclear what exactly caused the fire but, all signs point to the rear brakes on the cab.
It was unknown what the trailer was reported to be loaded, according to the CHP traffic log.
