VICTORVILLE, CA. (Pain In The Pass ) >> A major traffic collision involving a city bus, a pickup truck, and a gray SUV took place on Tuesday afternoon in the town of Victorville. (Photo above is credit by Jennider Hernandez.)
The accident occurred at approximately 3:54pm, on July 30, 2024, at the intersection of D Street and the on and off ramps to northbound Interstate 15. One of the vehicles involved in the collision was a green Victor Valley Transit Authority (VVTA) bus with front end damage and the other two vehicles were a maroon pickup truck with major front-end damage and a grey SUV with damage.
One person reportedly sustained critical injuries and needed to be transported by helicopter. The patient was transported by ground ambulance to Victor Valley Global Medical Center and was then airlifted by Mercy Air 2 to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. All other people involved in the collision were reported to have minor injuries.
A wintess said it looked like the truck lost its brakes down the off ramp and hit the bus at the stop light.
Due to the investigation, westbound D Street was temporarily closed at 2nd Street. The Victorville Police Department is conducting the accident investigation.
