California Highway Patrol received multiple 911 calls at about 3pm on September 21, 2024. The two vehicles reportedly involved in the collision were a dark blue Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck and a white Jeep Wagoneer. The pickup truck and the Jeep were traveling south on Interstate 15 near the truck escape ramp, when one of the vehicles veered into the other vehicle. The contact caused both vehicles to crash into the center divider guardrail. The crash ended with the pickup truck on top of the Jeep and the guardrail.

With help from good Samaritans, they were able to get the driver out of the pickup truck before rescue crews arrived.

There were no reported injuries in the crash. Traffic was backed up for miles awaiting a tow truck that was called to the scene.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Inland Office.
