CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> California Highway Patrol officers delivered a healthy baby girl on the side of Interstate 15 in the Cajon Pass.
On Wednesday, November 20, 2024, authorities said a pregnant woman, whom they identified only as Mrs. Accardo, was enroute to the hospital on southbound I-15 when officers from the California Highway Patrol Inland Office rushed into action to help her through contractions as she went into labor.
The incident happened near Cleghorn Road, while Accardo’s sister was driving her to the hospital on the 15, per a release from authorities shared on social media.
It wasn’t long before Officers Zamora, Rafael, and Carrillo of the CHP arrived on-scene and turned the freeway into what the office is calling a “quickly made delivery room.”
After the officers supported her through her contractions, the mother was transported “safely” to the hospital, per the CHP.
