LUDLOW, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A two-vehicle crash in north San Bernardino County resulted in two fatalities and one person being airlifted to the hospital Tuesday morning.

The crash occurred around 6:12am on March 11, 2025. The location of the crash was on westbound Interstate 40 about 3 miles before the Crucero Road/Ludlow exit according to the California Highway Patrol.

The two-vehicles involved in the collision was reported to be a white semi tractor-trailer and a silver Dodge Caravan minivan. At this time one of the vehicles made contact. The contact caused the semi to crash off of the freeway in the right shoulder, the Dodge minivan reported to rolled over multiple time into the open desert on the right shoulder.

Two people inside the minivan were pronounced deceased at the scene while one person was airlifted to a local hospital after the accident.

According to San Bernardino Fire, one person was airlifted by CHP helicopter to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs with unknown injuries.

We will update this story with more information when the CHP’s preliminary accident report is available. Additional details were limited at this time. This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
