MOJAVE NATIONAL PRESERVE, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A motorcycle rider was airlifted to a local trauma center following a three-vehicle crash on westbound Interstate 40 Wednesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol and the San Bernardino County Fire the collision was reported around 11:13am on June 25, 2025, on westbound I-40 near the Kelbaker Road exit. From the CHP traffic log stated a motorcycle rider, a Toyota Camry sedan, and additional car all collided. The contact causes the rider to be ejected from the motorcycle and lying in the slow lane.
Rescue crew responded to the scene. Due to the severity of the motorcyclist’s injuries, they called for a medical helicopter to land at the scene to transported to a local trauma center.
CHP and rescue crews needed westbound lanes to be closed for the helicopter to land and for the investigation of the collision.
Tri State Care Flight #6 helicopter was dispatched and transported the rider to University Medical Center Southern Nevada.
By 12:44pm, the fast lane had reopened, and both lanes were eventually cleared.
San Bernardino County Fire didn’t specify the extent of the injuries suffered besides the rider was conscious and alert.
