SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Monsoon Weather is moving in with periods of heavy rain showers will raise concerns over potential mudslides in recent burn scar area of the Lake Fire in Silverwood Lake off of Highway 138 for the next couple of days.
Drivers and residents are advised to take precautions, such as staying informed with the weather forecast, emergency alerts, and road closures.
This weather event on Hwy 138 may not have an evacuation route so avoiding burn areas and unnecessary travel, fishing or hiking in the coming days.
Too much rain falling too quickly in burn scar areas could cause serious problems like flash flooding and rockslides.
Caltrans said in a statement they could temporary closed Hwy 138 at Hwy 173 and Cleghorn Road/Silverwood Lake if the weather turns bad.
Heavier rain showers can still happen even if you don’t see lightning or hear thunder. But if you do hear or see a thunderstorm, “you’ll likely have higher rainfall rates.
