SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The California Highway Patrol is proud to support the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance’s (CVSA) Brake Safety Week, running from August 24–30, 2025. This weeklong enforcement and education campaign focuses on keeping our roads safe by ensuring commercial vehicles have properly maintained brake systems.
This year’s emphasis is on brake drums and rotors — critical components that directly impact stopping power and safety.
-What to expect:
✅ CHP officers and inspectors will conduct brake system inspections on commercial vehicles across California
✅ Vehicles with brake-related out-of-service violations will be removed from service
✅ Educational outreach will help drivers and fleet operators understand brake maintenance requirements
