CAJON PASS, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> A woman was shot multiple times Wednesday evening off of Highway 138 next the 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass, and the suspect remains at large, according by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Department.
On Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at approximately 5:20pm, deputies from the Victor Valley Station, Central Station, and medical personnel responded to a call for service for a subject that sustained gunshot wounds, at Wagon Train Road & Highway 138 (By the McDonalds and the Chevron gas station), in Phelan.
Deputies contacted the victim and confirmed the victim a female passenger sustained multiple gunshot wounds in a Tesla. Medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment. A second vehicle was also struck by gunfire during the incident. Nobody was injured in that vehicle.
Witnesses described the suspect as a black male adult, approximately 6-foot, average build, last seen wearing a black t-shirt. The suspect used a handgun and drove a black sedan, possibly a Nissan Maxima or Altima. The suspect fled northbound on the 15 freeway. A second vehicle, which was possibly involved in the incident, was described as a black sedan and left the area in an unknown direction.
