SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> Over the Labor Day Weekend Holiday Enforcement Period (August 29–September 1), California Highway Patrol officers were out in full force across California. Our mission is to stop dangerous driving behaviors before they became tragedies.
Compared to the same period in 2024 (CHP jurisdiction):
Fatal crashes dropped 49% (39 → 20).
Fatalities dropped 51% (43 → 21).
Enforcement activity increased:
45,829 enforcement contacts.
34,331 citations issued.
19,798 speeding citations.
1,214 DUI arrests (up from 1,140 last year).
Every arrest, every ticket, and every stop represents a dangerous behavior taken off the road. The sharp drop in fatal crashes shows that increased enforcement saves lives.
