KRAMER JUNCTION, CA. (Pain In The Pass) >> The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office has identified one of the two killed in a three-vehicle head-on crash on Highway 395 near Kramer Junction Saturday afternoon.
Jannalise Santoyo Lara, 19-year-old, of Madera, was driving a 2008 Toyota Camry southbound on Highway 395 around 3:15pm Saturday, August 31, 2025, when her vehicle veered into the northbound lanes and collided head-on with a 2010 Audi, according to a statement from the California Highway Patrol.
The Audi, driven by a 21-year-old man from Ridgecrest, was traveling northbound with a 2019 Kia Niro SUV driven by a 60-year-old man from Tehachapi, was behind the Audi.
“Immediately following the initial impact, the Toyota was struck by the Kia, which was traveling behind the Audi,” the statement said
Lara and a Ridgecrest man were both pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Kia was airlifted to Antelope Valley Hospital with major injuries.
The 21-year-old man is withheld pending identification and notification to the next of kin.
This incident will be under investigation by the California Highway Patrol, Barstow Office.
